Coop at the batting cages...

Andrew used his "PT" time (physical training) the other day to take Cooper to the batting cages at the fitness center on base. Once again... another fun, FREE, thing. He was SO excited, especially because both the other kids were napping, and he got some one-on-one time with Dad. They started out with the slowest baseball pitch, which came a little too fast. Then they moved it to softball, and Coop started connecting. Batting practice has been somewhat of a daily routine for this kid since about 6 months old (no joke!) :). But, this was his first time to the real cages. Cooper loved it, and I think they will go back, for sure! And, I think Dad may even get in the cage. :) They stopped for slurpies at the shopette on their way home, and brought one home for Gunner too.

I loved the last pic. One on one is so great when we can do it. I just love spending time with one kid at a time! I will have to tell Gary about the batting cages, even better they are free! love that!

I will call you this week and get the details about Friday. It sounds like fun! I think the kids will enjoy themselves.

I'm so impressed he was really hitting the balls, that's tough! You guys are so lucky to have so many free events that sound really fun, truly the Air Force is the best. We went to a Festival here for the Marine's and not only was it really lame but everything was expensive!!! We live near an Air Force base so the next time they have an event we are heading up there! :)

He is so adorable. My boys love baseball. They to had a bat in their hands at early age.. Their past coaches told us the best thing you can do with your son is to play catch and throw balls for him to bat. That's what makes a great ball player. and it looks like he is on his way.

Cassie....first off those indoor pics were messed up (i didn't adjust my white balance....)But the way you do it is you get a "fast" lens for your camera...something that has a really large aperture. The one I use most of the time has an aperture of 1.4. When i'm in doors I set my ISO at 400 (200 if it's a well lit room) and open my aperture all the way and I can usually get shutter speeds of 1/45 or 1/90 of a second, so there's no need for a flash. The lenses can be expensive, and I know you use a Nikon (I use Cannon) so I don't know what a comparable Nikon lens would be....the one I have is about $1200....anyway, email me if you want more info....sorry for the long comment!!!! Hope you're doing well!!!!
