I'm going to miss THIS?

Am I the only one who's living room looks like this about once a week?! My current philosophy is to save the laundry for one day, when I wash all day, then fold that night (usually with help from my hubby) to a good show. That way it is ALL DONE at one time. If I do a load here and there, I never feel like it is DONE. I am trying to decide if my new philosophy will be to fold the laundry straight out of the dryer, into baskets for each person... the way my momma did it (for 11 people, I might add)???

By the way, the cushions are off the couch from the apple juice spill earlier that day.

Does anyone else feel like the amount of laundry and cleaning goes up exponentially with each kid. Get married -- it triples, first kid -- six times the work, second kid -- 12 times the work, etc. :) Obviously, I'm exaggerating... a TAD.

Good thing the same "helpers" who create all this laundry, also "help" make cleaning so much "easier". :)
Maybe someday they'll actually pull their weight, and make things truly "easier"....

But, it is so "worth it" today!

I AM going to "miss this". He did say that, right?!

JUST FOLDED EACH LOAD SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO IRON SO MUCH. I ALSO WOULD NOT HAVE HAD ROOM FOR ALL OUR LAUNDRY AT ONCE IN THE LIVING ROOM. OUR COUCHS WERE ALWAYS COVERED WITH PEOPLE!
but enjoy the time Cass, it WILL be over before you know it!

Hey there- I'm just visiting from Amber's blog. My issue isn't the folding of the laundry (well sometimes it is...). Mostly it is remembering that I stuck a load in the washer and getting it into the dryer in a timely manner. I've even resorted to putting a stash of M&Ms in the laundry room: I'd think, "Hmmm. I think I want a snitch of chocolate - I'll go get an M&M or two. And since I was already in the laundry room I might as well switch the clothes over... Whatever it takes, right?

Cute blog. Your family looks so precious. You've been very blessed!

That is so cute that your boys are helping clean the bathroom. I should give my girls a little bit more of a challenge with their chores. I do our laundry every Monday and Thursday and it has been working so well It makes for a little less laundry each time, but it still gets the laundry baskets completely empty so it doesn't feel like a never ending job...(even though it really is) Hope you guys are doing well. I can't remember if I thanked you for your thank you card and the gift card. That was so nice!

I think we all feel this way.

I'll tell you what works for me. I do a load at least once a day or every other day. It is a little easier when your washer and dryer is on the same floor as your bedrooms.

I think I would get too much anxiety it I left it all for one day but it is different for everyone.

And yes it gets worse with every kid I don't know what I am going to do in a couple of weeks.

And yes we are gonna miss this.

I also try and deligate two days a week for laundry. That doesn't always happen but I try. I'm so proud of the boys for wanting to help. Enjoy that while it lasts. in a few years we won't be able to get our kids to volunteer to help around the house, at all. Love ya Cass. I sure do miss seeing you. Someday.

I tried setting aside one day a week for laundry but I always got lazy and then we'd just pull the clean clothes from the baskets and then I wouldn't know what was clean and what was dirty!

So now, I do one load a day. Wash/Dry/Fold/Put Away. I have 4 baskets in my closet- whites/darks/colors/towels and which ever basket is the fullest, that is the load of the day!

So far it works for me, we'll see when we have another member of the family!

I tried the one day laundry technique (you told me about it awhile ago). Well, let's just say, I DIED!!!! I don't know how you do it. I still struggle with the laundry and I know it will only get worse with #4. Well, I've resorted to 2 loads per day. I get them washed in the morning tossed in the dryer, folded, and then hopefully put away by the end of the day. Love to see your posts! Say hi to Rachie for me!

I love seeing this! It makes me feel so much better! Only mine covers my entire bed! I hate it when you dont fold it right away b/c then it's all wrinkled by the time you get to it! I don't know that I will miss all the laundry. We fill a basket practically everyday here. The summer time is worse! Im just glad we have enough clothes to make it through a week without me having to be washing everyday!

Ugh! The never-ending laundry battle. Your boys are so cute helping in the bathroom. You should put Cooper in charge of the Comet ;).

It's so nice to know that someone else has the same problem as I do. And yes, when you have three children the house work is triple as opposed to just having 1. When I clean my front room everyday, in a matter of 2 minutes its right back to what it looked like before I picked up. UGH! It gets annoying. But hey, that's what kids do right?LOL

I do it that way, too! I even save the folding for that night to a show or movie! Funny. Are we sisters or what? That's a good idea to have them help fold. Cade tries, but usually just makes the process longer. :) Looks like you are training those boys well!

I can SO RELATE to this! I used to do laundry in one day like that, but it was too hard! So now I do about a load a day or two loads a day with towels from Salon. But you seem to have it all organized in nice sized piles! Love the cleaning help you have there! Your boys are sooo adorable. Miss ya

I have to say to do the laundry once a week also. It does feel like its all done.. It hasn't been to much worse the older the kids get.You make me laugh because my living room looks like that too.and I'm glad someone else feels the same way same I do. Your doing a good job. your boys look so cute cleaning. Cute pictures.

I have the smallest laundry room on the planet, but I fold everything straight out of the dryer into baskets for everyone... and the baskets are on shelves above the washing machine and dryer.

IT IS SO EASY! Never do I have a TON of laundry to do, I just fold a load when I walk by and it needs to be done. It is NEVER a big job. It doesn't even seem like a job at all.

The kids bring their "dirty clothes baskets" into the laundry room on Saturdays and sort them into the right bin, and then take their clean clothes and put them away at the same time.
It is really an easy way for me. It is NEVER a big job. My favorite job in the house, actually.
